No one wears designer more subtly than Willem Dafoe, we have the fit to prove it.
The award-winning actor, best known for his portrayal of Green Goblin in the original “Spider-Man” was stopped on the streets of New York City recently by Maurice Kamara, a man who runs the The People Gallery, a social media account known for documenting the “out” fits worn by celebrities.
The People Gallery’s goal is, as noted on TikTok, is to “unite the world one fit at a time.”
Kamara, who is known for starting every “fit check” video with “Hey how ya doing today?” began the video with Dafoe like he would any other.
Viewers get a brief introduction from Dafoe, who told the camera his name and where he was from.
“Willem Dafoe. I’m from Wisconsin … I’m from Rome,” before Kamara asks him to “describe the fit.”
The video of Dafoe’s “discreet fit” check, Prada shoes and all, has gone viral, accumulating a whopping 33 million views since it was posted Monday.
“William Dripfoe,” one user wrote, indeed.
Watch the moment below
Dafoe describes his fit, telling Kamara he is wearing “Prada shoes. Prada coat. T-shirt. A green Woolrich sweater.”
It doesn’t take long for a fan to spot Dafoe, interrupting the interaction to ask for a photo.
Dafoe speaks to the woman, bringing in her frame to jokingly ask about her fit, “What are you wearing?” he says.
The fan walks off, which leaves Dafoe to finish his fit check. He gestures to his pants but is unsure where they are from, turning to show Kamara his backside.
Kamara manages to get one more question in as Dafoe begins to walk off, asking the actor, “If you could give anyone a style tip, what would it be?”
“I wouldn’t do that. I would never give anybody a style tip,” Dafoe says.
Internet reacts to Willem Dafoe’s fit check, calling it ‘naturally fly’ among others
Users on TikTok and Instagram seem to be in agreement, writing that Dafoe’s outfit had the “drip” a.k.a very cool.
“This man so naturally fly,” a user named Sookie wrote in the TikTok comments.
“You know Peter…I’m something of a drip lord myself,” Speakz wrote on Instagram, referencing the 2002 “Spider-Man” movie.
“This ain’t the green goblin this the drip goblin,” a user named Eric wrote on TikTok.
“Babe wake up new Defoe drip just dropped,” McCoy wrote.
Others noted how simple his fit really was, showing an air of humility.
“Why is he dressed like a normal person, does he not know he’s William Dafoe,” Luv, G wrote.
Chuckabuck100 wrote, “This man is a famous Actor and he's on the streets like a regular person. This is crazy.”
